How to Import a Contact List While in Enquire MAP
In Enquire MAP, a contact list is a view into the Enquire MAP contact database. Similar to a CRM, our platform maintains a Master database of contacts. Additionally, Contact lists are just views into the contact database. Similar to social groups, a person can be a member of multiple social groups and if the group disbanded, the person still exists yet the group no longer unified. The User can create and /or delete contact lists and not have to worry about deleting or creating new contacts. The list is just a collection of contacts in Enquire MAP.
How do I import contacts?
- Importing contacts into Enquire MAP is done from the dashboard:
- Importing contacts into Enquire MAP is also done through the contact import interface. The contact import can be done either from a direct CRM connection or from a csv/xls/xlsx file.
- Once the User has uploaded a file, Enquire MAP will parse through the file and allow the User to map the columns in the file to fields in our platform
It is important to map the contact email address as this is the lookup field in Enquire MAP. Our platform supports the following file types:
- Excel
- CSV
- TSV files
When the User is satisfied with the preview and data mapping, the user will be able to start the import (and can cancel the import at any point). Once it has completed, a 2-day window is allotted to confirm and remove it if necessary. Please Note: If the User has chosen to delete an import, it will only remove contacts that were created, not ones that were updated.
Whenever a file is imported, Enquire MAP creates a list of contacts for this import. The User can delete the list or choose to use it. Again, the list is just a view into the contact database.
